I finished Mass Effect the other day for the first time and by the end, I had changed my mind. It's still a little light on role play for my liking but the story builds very nicely and ends with a massive bang. So, I have started it again and decided to act as renegade, which has meant thus far, knocking out a scientist, threatening farmers and kill two people in cold blood.

Mass Effect maybe boredom?
I recently purchased Mass Effect after finishing Fallout 3 expecting a role playing game, but if a role playing game considers of enemies charging you in vast numbers and using no desirable tactics and knocking you on your ass in a second then this is a role playing game.
Unfortunately, I personally think its an abomination. I mean you gain experience by looking at things like computers and random items, but not everything gives you experience. You could always survey a planets, "Commander we have surveyed the planet and decide its big and spherical, here have 100 experience points".
I played for six hours and never left the first big space station. I talked to people and killing a couple others just to get more talking. Unfortunately I got bored, very bored and I start skipping yet another self important space asses speech blah, blah, blah. Sadly, I feel compelled finish it at least once, just so, I can be really fair when I tell people to keep their money and "No, it doesn't get any better!"
