As you can see from the picture, I have not had ACL(anterior cruciate ligament) reconstructive surgery. The reason, firstly my MRI was misleading and it was unlikely that I had actually completely snapped my ligament, secondly I have no instability apart from the initial traumas and thirdly the consultant who are due to the operation was part of research team working in Sweden. The teams research suggest that ACL surgery is not nessacary for Joe Average, ie; if I was a professional footballer and required the surgery to continued my career do it, otherwise improving muscle structure is safer than surgery and ACL may lead to increased risk of arthritis, not decreased as current research suggests. The paper explaining this change is due for release later this year. So, I am off the GYM to improve my muscle structure and no more football for me.

Health : My knee pre-ACL repair
My knee pre-ACL(anterior cruciate ligament) reconstructive surgery scheduled for tomorrow. I cannot say I am looking forward to it. The surgeon plans to look around my knee then if he is sure I need further surgery, he will do the reconstruction.

Health : Worst Fear!
I haven't really chance to post this weekend. My mind has been a little preoccupied after an MRI scan of my knee and a visit with a knee consultant, which confirmed my worst fear. My cruciate ligament is snapped after a footballing injury in 2007.
