Paul Grist calls on all elements of what is British from songs by Slade to household names like Tesco, Dad's Army and Steptoe & Son. I was half surprised not to see Sid James at some point.
Jack Staff is a truly enjoyable romp. One of my favourite touches is that Jack Staff alter-ego is John Smith builder, which leads onto the joke about builders actual working hours, ie; if they are all superheroes that explains turning up at 10am to have a tea break at 11am until 3pm then disappearing at 4 pm again.
If I have one criticism it is that the comic did jump around a little too much, otherwise not at gritty as I use too but lots of fun.
