In 2003, fans of "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Friday the 13th" were treated to "Freddy vs. Jason". Finally these two eighties slasher legends were getting a chance to prove who was the daddy. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best movie in the world and missed the market of opportunity by a clear ten years.
In 2007, comic readers were treated to "Freddy vs jason vs Ash". Yes, the "j" is lowercase for a reason, I guess a reference to Jason child-like brain. This time the star of another eighties classic "The Evil Dead" was added to the mix, but like the movie of 2003, it was missing the history of the characters and spent too many pages of the novel trying to explain them. However, I am not saying that it is bad, just long winded. As fan of Ash, I enjoyed the endless stream of one lines. It is important to remember this comic is the replacement for the movie of the same title and interestly is co-written by one of the script writers due to do that film.
If you liked the films of the eighties and then you'll probably enjoy this novel.
