As I was reading the latest Linux news on the 'net, the same old comments keep appearing. The article, I was reading was about Australia's lack of take up on Linux within Corporate environments and as usually the Microsoft users shouted "We are the greatest!" followed by the Linux users shouting "No, We are the greatest!". Both sides then explain why and then resort to "your platform isn't stable", "you have a 1% market share" and so it goes on, but isn't it like comparing apples and oranges? Both are fruit, they look different and taste different, but both will fill your tummy. So, why fight? I care and I don't, I care about corporations holding patents that stifle growth, I care about software designed to prevent users not being able to use the full potential of the hardware, this case memory. It may seem a little bit like a dig at Microsoft in the links, but if they didn't do it, I wouldn't care. I wonder, if we can just stop fighting, because it is boring!
